Motivation for automation

Employees producing respirator filters for the IRS during the COVID-19 pandemic are under forced quarantine and doctors are without protection. Automation must help and manpower must take its place.

Project description.

The subject of the implementation was the express development and delivery of equipment for the assembly of filters for respirators during COVID 19. The equipment was developed and installed in an incredible 14 days and loaned for 4 months for filter production free of charge as a part of the support.

Process Description:

  1. A camera-guided robot (1) picks the filter housing with the cover
  2. The parts are loaded into the ultrasonic welding machine
  3. Robot (2) manipulates the preserved assemblies into the potting centrifuge
  4. Robot (3) removes the potted pieces from the centrifuge and transfers them via conveyor to a second workstation
  5. Robot (4) receives the pieces from the conveyor and checks the correct functioning of the filter
  6. Robot (5) manipulates the tested pieces into the laser marking device
  7. Robot (5) places the finished pieces on the conveyor for packaging
